Very true. Although I would never want something like the way American’s have with their campaigns over here. That would scare me but a little more effort would be nice.

Even specialized parties are looking interesting to me this year like the Pirate Party. Might be young and such but might send a statement as well. Still not sure what I will vote for anyways.

A family was visiting an Indian reservation when they happen upon an old tribesman laying face down in the middle of the road with his ear pressed firmly against the blacktop.
The father of the family asked the old tribesman what he was doing.
The tribesman began to speak…”woman, late thirties, three kids, one barking dog in late model, four door station wagon, traveling at 65 m.p.h.”
“That’s amazing!” exclaimed the father.
“You can tell all of that by just listening to the ground?”
“No,” said the old tribesman. “They just ran over me five minutes ago!”

Quite some similarities with Syria: construction sites through the city, chaotic traffic (I believe the law is the guy with the biggest set gets right of way), the haggling is something that’s quite common through the region and even in Asia and indeed green thinking isn’t on any agenda there. I didn’t experience any power outages during my 2 weeks there though.

What I really loved about Syria was like you experienced the friendliness of the people, amazing how helpful they are (got some amazing stories about that) and the slower pace (with the exception of Damascus).
