Every experience is a chance to learn

Right now I’m in the middle of moving to a new apartment. There are a lot of things involved with that that I never have dealt with before. But that’s okay: I learned something about myself with every one of these experiences. Whether it was dealing with a small amount of available housing (not good), dealing with brokers and getting the deal you wanted (good) or finding out if you’re able to do some renovation work (answer: yes, but with some assistance). All these things taught me something about myself and how I deal with situations and people.

Since life is one experience after another, it’s up to you to learn as much from these experiences as you can. Not only do you find out what you’re made of and how you react to certain situations, if you try different things it’s much easier to know your likes and dislikes.

Once again this made me realize that the fact that I know myself pretty well (not that I’m not surprised how I react to things every once in a while) is because I’ve tried all kinds of things in my life, both comfortable and uncomfortable, and tried to learn from them. And the chance to learn something of yourself is a chance you have to take.
