This post will be my 500th tweet
How things have changed. Before starting my little experiment I really didn’t get Twitter. Not that I’m claiming I understand it completely now, but I’m getting there. Since starting back in the spring I’ve accumulated not the most impressive of all Twitter stats, but it’s pretty solid.
And sure there are drawbacks. There’s the occasional spam @-mention. I know that probably most of my followers are either bots or spammers. I know that some are attacked with hateful replies when stating a certain opinion. And that Fail Whale maybe shows up a little too often. But the pros outshine the cons by far.
To stay in line with my post of the 24th of April I get how Twitter can be entertaining and fun. I get how it can help you build an audience (if you desire so). I get how it could help your business (although there are still many possible uses that are not implemented or thought out yet). I get how it can widen your network (again, if you desire so). I get how it can help you learn and why it’s so popular and attractive. I get how it can help causes or charities move forward in reaching their goals. I get how it can start up conversations. I get how it can help news spread faster. I get how it can be a discovering and sharing tool (as said in last weeks post).
There are probably still many things I don’t get and I’m probably not using Twitter to its full potential. But that’s OK in my book. Let’s just say that I never thought a thing where you answer the simple question “What are you doing?” would become part of my daily life.
