Hotel for the airline stranded

Yotel Hotel is a new hotel that just opened at Terminal 4 on Heathrow Airport in London. The concept is simple yet brilliant. The luxurious rooms can be rented in 4 hour blocks so that you can relax when your flight is delayed, take a quick shower between flights, or get in that night of sleep before an early morning flight (with added benefit that you join the check-in line from just outside your room).

For £ 25 you can get 4 hours in a room with air conditioning, double rotating beds, shower, flatscreen TV, internet access (wired and wifi) and many more features. Great concept.

Press Photographer’s Year 2006

The Press Photographer’s Year is a new competition that celebrates the best and most beautiful photographs taken by UK photographers (although non-UK photographers can join in if they work mostly for UK media).

The winners can be seen in this great slideshow.

Sometimes shocking. Sometimes weird. Sometimes cute and all those other emotions you can get from pictures. But most of all, stunning photography.

Yoda backpack have you must

After seeing The Empire Strikes Back as a young boy I wanted to run around with Yoda on my back while he dispensed his wisdom of the Force on me while I jump around and use my lightsaber while honing my Jedi skills. However people grow up and you realize that Force isn’t inside of you (although according to The Phantom Menace it’s my lack of midi-chlorians) and that you just can’t pick up a working light saber in your local hardware store. But you can run around with Yoda now!

Okay, so it’s a backpack and it probably won’t say words of wisdom in your ear, but you can’t have it all.

Family Jewels Airbag

Sometimes when you look at certain inventions you can only wonder and think “What the…”. Take a look at this: Yamaha has invented a so-called Crotch Airbag which function it is to protect a guys ehrm..more sensitive area.

I can understand that safety is an issue with motorcycle companies. It’s a fact that you’re far more vulnerable on a bike than in a car so every bit of extra protection for bodily harm is welcome, yet you have to wonder if this is the answer. I’ve never ridden a motorbike myself, but have been in some collisions with my bicycle and moped and what happened most of the time is that, in a head-on collision, I was catapulted from my bike. So any use for an airbag on the bike itself was useless. So being a bit skeptical on this.
